At long last, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board has posted resources for claimants on its website (http://www.cicb.gov.on.ca). Under the "Resources" section, you will find Application Tips and Resources.

The Application Tips section walks a potential claimant step-by-step through the application and offers helpful explanations as to what information is required.

The Resources section provides links to other valuable tools, such as Guidelines to the Public, CICB Rules of Procedure, and some of the forms used by the Board.

With the addition of these online aids, the CICB has taken a good first step toward becoming a more claimant-friendly body. We urge all advocates working in this area to review these new resources and utilize them when working on CICB issues.
